(Received March 8, 8.30 p.m.) CAIRO, March 7.
A Japanese naval and air mission is reported to have arrived at Madagascar. where the French authorities are yielding to Japanese demands On instructions from Vichy under German pressure. [Recent Press messages suggested that Tokio was pressing for the use of bases in Madagascar, off the cast coast of Africa, for raiding Allied supply routes in the Indian Ocean.]
