"Intermit tonal Lady." now nt Hie King’s Theatre, sandwiches in n liberal helping of good, exciting fun. , . Ilona Massey, the beautiful spy. lias confounded her critics by stepping from one success to another since her initial achievement in “Bahihiikt. She appears in a bewildering suci.ssioii of wonderful clothes (they certainly were not bought on London’s wartime coupon system , and when she is recovering from the bullet she receives while saving an Anierciin Federal ugent she still looks amazingly cool and lovely. , As a blonde, Mata Han, Ilona is trailed across two continents by George Brent, a G-man at the American Embassy in London, and Basil Rathbone, Scotland Yard snoop—two minds with but a single thought. ‘All three flit to New Noth, where the blonde spy perforins her duties for both her enemy employers and the audience by singing in code for the benefit of Nazi listeners-in. There is a great deal of exciting stuff after the manner of “Foreign Correspondent.” and some amusing international cross-talk between Brent and Rathbone. A last word : praise for Basil hathbone for being one of the few men who can carry a bouquet of gladioli without looking a complete ninny.
