Bearing On Battlefield Praised A message has been received by the Prime Minister, Mr. Fraser, from Major-General Sir Bernard Freyberg, officer-commanding the New Zealand Expeditionary Force overseas, as follows :— “I am most grateful to you and the Government for your kind cable of congratulations. The*honour conferred on me I take as an expression of admiration for the magnificent bearing on the battlefield of the New Zealand Forces here in the Middle East. May I add my most sincere thanks to, you and the Government for the gi'eat help given during two difficult and momentous years for New Zealand.”
