NEW MOTOR ROUTE IN IRAN

First Lorry-loads On Way To Russia (Received November 25, 8.15 p.m.) LONDON, November 24. The Teheran correspondent of the British United Press states that a motor route has been opened in Iran between Bushire, Shiraz, Isfahan and Teheran, a distance of 550 miles. The first lorri'eg, loaded with rubber, are using the route and are expected to reach the Russians early next week. A fleet of 52 lorries is available for the five days’ journey, and American 15-ton vehicles are expected soon. They are capable of carrying tanks in spite of the passes between Bushire and Shiraz which rise to 12,000 feet. The United Kingdom Commercial Corporation has 1000 lorries operating in Iran and workshops established at key points.
