LEVIN RACES

Final Day Postponed Till Today MOST HORSES REMAIN By St. Simon. The •weather was too bad on Saturday for the' Levin Racing Club to hold the second day of its spring meeting and the stewards decided to postpone it till today. The club has thus kept faith with those owners who have horses at the meeting and it was reported last night that only five of those carded to run have returned home. They are Indian Sun and Mount Battock (R. Marsh), Good Sun and Eastern Sport (J. W. Lowe) and Taharakau (G. XV. B. Greene). The weather was fine in Levin yesterday and a trainer who worked his horses in the morning informed ‘‘The Dominion” that providing no more rain fell overnight (and this appeared unlikely) the "oing would be in perfect order today. The club has made arrangements with the Railway Department for Wellington patrons to travel on ordinary trains this morning and return by special, while a special train will also be run from Palmerston North. Particulars are advertised in this issue. Betting is under the single pool system and the following horses are likely to be supported in their engagements: — Kimberley Hurdles: Majority and Stakes: Dungloe and Swell Hack Handicap: Sandy Bay and Metonymy. Heatherlea Handicap: Legal and Kurrawong. , „ Horowhenua Handicap: Auroras Star and Beau Ciel. . , Ihakara Handicap: Imperium and Koputaroa Handicap: Duncannon and ■Wings of Song. . , Hokio Handicap: Saint Tor and Salvation.

Eollowing are the acceptances: — KIMBERLEY HACK HURDLES, of £l5O. One mile and a half.
