Slow Progress Against Moscow LONDON, November 23. The war correspondent of the “Pravda” said today that in comparison with the offensive a month ago, the present German assaults, even where they have made any progress at all have progressed three or rour times more slowly. The Germans have varied their tactics by flinging big tank formations against small points. These narrow thrusts, though spectacular, have not been able to make serious breaks in the defences. The most serious new German advance reported is toward Klin on the Kalinin road and about 50 miles north-west of Moscow. At Volokolamsk and Kalinin no new developments are reported. At Tula the Russians are successfully coping with all the German attacks. Today’s Berlin communique consists of one line and says: “On the Eastern Front more succesess have been scored.
