Following are some of the successes a Bristol Beautigiiters squadron lias gained in the last five days in the Western Desert. Without loss to themselves they have shot down eight enemy aircraft and destroyed a further 2S on the ground. In ail eiicounter with five JU troop-curriers ueui Barce on November 8 all five aircraft were shot down.
Apart from these successes against the enemy, the squadron in the same live days has destroyed or damaged 20 lorries," live other vehicles and four petrol tankers and killed a number of enemy personnel. The Bristol Beaulighter is a long range day and night lighter. It is a mid wing monoplane with a speed of more than 330 miles an hour. Its powerful armament consists of four cannon and six machineguns, and it carries a crew of two a pilot and a navigator observer.
