MAILS FOR TROOPS
Early Posting Advisable For Christmas The suggestion that persons using the air-mail service to soldiers in the Middle East would bg well advised to post their Christmas correspondence without delay was made on Saturday by tlie Postmaster-General, Mr. Webb. He explained that, apart from the normal time involved in transmission, extra time might be occupied at the Base Post Office in sorting and delivering the correspondence to the units, as the quantity to be dealt with was likely to be heavy. “It has to be remembered, too,” said Mr. Webb, “that the Base Post Office staff will be exceptionally busy just before Christmas dealing with large surface mails. If, however, air-mail correspondence is posted early, it will have good prospects of delivery to the addresses in time for Christmas,”
