WEDDING

Russell—Avery

Lovely Howers in shades of erearn and cyclamen decorated All Saints’ Church, Kilbirnie, for the wedding in Wellington on Saturday afternoon of Beryl Maude, daughter of Colonel and Mrs. 11. E. Avery, Welington, and Allan William, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. T. Russell, ■Wellington. The Rev. W. A. Langston officiated. Friends of the bride had arranged the Howers in the church. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a lovely princess gown of magnolia slipper satin with full train. Her matching tulle veil appliqued in an iris design was held with a coronet of orange blossom and she carried a bouquet of cream roses, sweet pens, lily-of-the-valley and maidenhair fern.

The bridesmaids were Miss Lea Avery, sister of the bride and Miss Joan Juriss. Their full skirted frocks of water lily green slipper satin were finished with cyclamen velvet sashes and their headdresses were in shades of cyclamen. Mauve irises and pink roses made their bouquets. Air. AV. Russell, brother of the bridegroom, was best man and Sergeant John Avery, .the bride's brother, was groomsman. The ushers at. the church were Air. C. Ramage and Mr. K. Avery. As the bride left the church, she was presented with lucky horseshoes by her youngest sister, Margaret, and by little Patil Vereoe.

A reception was held in the EnglishSpeaking Union rooms, where 50’guests were present. Airs. Avery wore a navy silk ensemble with matching accessories and carried a bouquet of siiot silk roses. Airs. Russell was wearing a costume of canyon rose with a shoulder spray of roses to tone and navy accessories. A three tiered wedding cake, beautifully ioed and decorated, made by the brides aunt, Mrs. C. E. Denby, held pride of place on the main table.

For travelling, the bride wore a grey tailored frock and grey coat with matching lint and cherry accessories.
