HINT BY BLAMEY

Extensive Campaign In Spring (Received November 13. 10.30 pan.) MELBOURNE, November 13. The General Officer Commanding the Australian Imperial Force, General Sir Thomas Blarney, in an interview today, hinted that he expects an extensive campaign next spring but he would not indicate the whereabouts of the probable hostilities. Whatever happened, he declared, Australian troops would fight as a single force. He considered the position in the Middle East fairly stable and said air support in this theatre had improved out of all comprehension. Newly devised co-operation between the army' and the air force would probably spell the end of all the former troubles.
