New American Fighter Plane NEW YORK, November 12. Details of a new American lighter plane were revealed today. The fighter is claimed to be the hardest-hitting pursuit aircraft in the world, with 15 guns and a speed of nearly 400 m.p.h. The new fighter, which is being built in large numbers by the Curtiss-Wright Aircraft Corporation for the United States and Great Britain, will be the first to use the American-built Merlin engine of British design.
