ABYSSINIAN CAMPAIGN

(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, November 11. A communique issued in Nairobi states that troops, advancing in the south on Friday, met with heavy but ineffective artillery lire in the Kulkaber area. Our artillery on Sunday successfully shelled enemy gun positions in the Mabaz.zo, Larei, and Liava sectors, silencing two batteries. Considerable enemy lire was drawn .in return, but there were no casualties. Our patrols continued harassing the enemy in all sectors. The South African Air Force, operating in the Gondar area on Monday, machinegunned enemy trenches at Sena. At Ambaz.zo, troops who had taken cover in trenches were attacked, and huts and trenches bombed. Pilots paid special and successful attention to a number of well-placed enemy machinegun posts. All our planes returned safely.
