Award Of Distinguished Flying Cross

Official advice has been received by Air Hea'dquarters, Wellington, that the Distinguished Flying Cross has been awarded to Flying Officer Stanley George Baggott, R.A.F. Flying Officer Baggott, who was born in London in 1916, was educated at the Christchurch Technical College, As a member of the civil reserve of pilots, he secured his pilot’s licence after instruction at the AVellington Aero Club- He was later accepted for a short-service commission in the Royal Air .Force, leaving New Zealand in May, 1938. His next-of-kin at the time of enlistment was his father, Mr. J. AV. Baggott, 62 Hay Street, Linwood, Christchurch.
