TONIGHT’S BOXING

Light-Heavyweight Title

It is not often followers of boxing in Wellington have the ehanee of seeing »t New Zealand championship contest, specially between two big men, and it goes without saying that the Town Hail will be crowded tonight when George Allen will try to lift the light-heavy-weight title of the Dominion from Clift Hatiham. The pair had a spirited bout in Wellington last yeai, when Hanham’s speed and sound defence enabled him to score a clear-cut win over his aggressive challenger. Since then, Hanham has beaten Vic Caltaux and Des Strickland, and Allen recently enhanced big reputation by the determined showing he made against Don Mullett in Wellington. Both the principals in tonights contest are boxer-fighters, and the tussle should be crowded with action. Attractive amateur boute will precede the professional contest.
