FOR WAR CHARITY

Beautiful Old Royal Lace (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, October 17. Beautiful old lace that once belonged to four Queens of England is part of a collection which is being flown to the United States for the benefit of British war charity. The Queen has presented her bridal veil stated to be worth £4OOO. Among the lovely pieces sent by Queen Mary is a deep flounce of Point de Gaze (modern needle-made Belgian lace) which belonged to Queen Alexandra. There is also a rare garment once worn by Queen Charlotte, as weil as Venetian point lace that graced the gowns of Marie Antoinette. These heirlooms are to be offered for sale at lhe British Embassy in Washington on November 15.
