RAFFLE OF TAPESTRY

The honorary secretary of the, Wellington Metropolitan Patriotic Committee, Hon. Vincent Ward, advised, that the “Cairo” Tapestry which is the work of Major Stamp-Taylor, and which attracted much attention when on show at the Centennial Exhibition, is now being raffled for patriotic funds. The tapesty, which measures 3ft. Gin. by 2ft. bin., depicts a street scene in Cairo, and took 1000 hours to work, there being 400 stitches to the square inch. Through the courtesy of the manager of James Smith’s Limited the tapestry will be on displayin their lounge this week.
