Wanganui Gift Appreciated A letter has been received by Flight Lieutenant Gladstone Hill, Director or Music for the Royal New Zealand Air Force, from Sergeant I*. Lloyd, of the 6tn New Zealand Infantry Brigade Band, Egypt, asking that the baud's appreciation be expressed to Wanganui wellwishers from whom it. recently received by airmail two parcels of music, lue sender was Mr. Euan Granville, who took up a tarpaulin muster to cover the cost of postage, which was £2/16/-, and he met with a ready respouse from a group of willing helpers iu Wanganui. Stating that he knew that the people of the Dominion hud been called on to some extent recently lo‘contribute to patriotic efforts, Sergeant Lloyd asked that the band's thanks be conveyed to all who bad contributed to the provision 01 (.he music. “The efficiency of our band, botb.niusically and militarily,” Sergeant. Lloyd added, “is commented ou favourably by everyone concerned, and our time is fully occupied in fulfilling engagements.” lie scut a “cheerio” to Charlie Thompson, in the Pukeora Sanatorium, who was tin original member of the baud. ’flic sergeant’s letter also asked it some further music, mainly marches and light numbers, could be sent, to the baud, aud this request has been referred to the secretary of the National Patriotic Fund Board.
