AMATEUR BOXING
Bright Bill At Petone Tonight The Hutt Valley Boxing Association has arranged an attractive programme for its all-amateur tournament at the Labour Hall, Petone, tonight, when the best of the boxers of Hutt Valley and Wellington will be seen in action. A bout of special interest will be that between the middleweights, A. Doak (Teachers’ Training College), and F. Southee. Doak a few weeks ago won a points decision over Frank Moyes (Newtown) in Wellington, but Moyes had his revenge last Thursday night when he scored a technical knock-out over Doak iu the third round at the Wellington Town Hall. The Training College man is a clever boxer, and it will be interesting to see how he will fare against Southee tonight. Another Training College representative, W. Wilson, will take the ring against B. Murphy, the Railways star welterweight, and this contest should also be full of action. Philp and Harold Allen should make matters lively in their encounter.
The Rongotai Air Station will also have representatives in the ring tonight, and they should play their part in what should prove a' night’s good entertainment
