Parties operating on the Waikato River and Lake Arapuni on the first two days of the fishing season experienced good sport. The majority of the trout caught have been reported to be in good condition. One fish taken in the Pukekura district weighed lOJlb., and a Cambridge angler caught a trout weighing 7Mb. Three parties on Lake Arapuni secured a total of 35 fish, and sportsmen operating between Lake Arapuni and the Little Waipa Stream had good catches, the heaviest fusb weighing 4 Jib.
