ON LARGER SCALE
Night Raiding Over Britain LONDON, October 3. Enemy activity over Britain last night was on a larger scale than for some time. Three raiding bombers were destroyed. Bombs were dropped at several points in coastal districts in the northeast and south-east of England. There were casualties and some damage. Bombs also fell in other districts, including the south-east of Scotland, but only slight damage was caused and no casualties were reported. Two enemy bombers were Drought down off the north-east coast and the third in the Firth of Forth area. O-ne south-east coast town bad its heaviest bombing of the war. There were two sharp attacks. Rescue squads were still at work when the second raid came. Those killed included six invalids. Thirty people were admitted to hospital. An Air Ministry communique says that small forces of heavy Royal AllForce bombers attacked the docks at Brest, where the German -battleships are still sheltering, last night.
