Permission To Post To British Civilians The I’ostniaster-General, Mr. Webb, announced yesterday that, in response to representations by the New Zea.mid Post Office, the British Ministry ot Food had agreed to a request that persons 'in New Zealand be allowed to post to civilians in the United Kingdom for the Christians period cake anti truit puddings up to the full weight limit of 51b. allowed in respect of any one gut parcel. • Normally, the quantity of any one foodstuff enclosed in a parcel miry not exceed 21b. in weight. The Minister expressed his appreciation of the action of the British authorities in granting this concession, which, he said, would be welcomed by many jiersons in the Dominion. He warned senders not to abuse the concession, however, as parcels sent too frequently to one addressee are liable to confiscation in Great Britain. This concession would lapse after October 31, but to ensure delivery of their parcels in time for Christmas senders should post them early this month. The Minister added that there was no change in the conditions applying to parcels for members of Dominion units in the United Kingdom or Dominion members of British units. Parcels weighing up to IHb. were accepted tor such addressees provided that in the case of those addressed to Dominion members of British units they wete fotwarded care of the New Zealand War Services Association, 415 Strand, Loudon, W.C. 2.
