The Edinburgh University authorities announced on Wednesday that it has been agreed to offer the honorary degree of doctor of law to Mr. J. G. Winant, the American Ambassador. It is hoi»cd to confer the degree when he visits Edinburgh to receive the freedom of the city. The date of this visit has not yet been fixed.
