Vice-Regal. Government House, Wellington, October 2. This morning his Excellency the Governor-General, attended by Captain IL G. Helmore, visited the Petone factory of W.D. & 11. O. Wills. Her Excellency Lady Newall, attended by Group Captain S. Wallingford, Honorary Aide-de-Camp, visited the Women’s Auxiliary Air Force at Rongotai. This evening her Excellency Lady Newall opened the annual meeting of the Wellington Young Women’s Christian Association. The Hon. Vincent Ward, M.L.0., hon. secretary of the Wellington Provincial Patriotic Council, visited Taihape for the opening there yesterday of the Soldiers’ Club. Captain W. E. Munday, N.Z.T.S., has been appointed General Staff Officer 3 (Signals) of the Southern Military District. He will act in that capacity in addition to carrying out his training duties at Burnham camp.
