The British Government Lias extended its export quota to include artificial silk piece goods, according to advice received by New Plymouth retailers. Details of the new arrangement are not to band, and it is therefore not known whether the quota will, like that for cotton goods, be based on a (our months’ period. “If the period is shorter than that it. will mean that supplies will be more evenly spread.’’ an importer commented. “If it. is longer, supplies will be plentiful at the beginning and scarce toward the end.”
