Very little golf was played in Wellington on’Saturday because of persistent rain throughout the day. The weather was in kinder mood yesterday, when players were pleased to have a glimpse of the sun in the afternoon, after showers in the morning. Miramar Club.—Webb Memorial, semifinal: A. V. O’Brien beat N. A. Foden, 3 and 2. Foden was 2 up with six to go, when O’Brien jumped into his best form, and won live holes in a row. Karorl -Ladies’ Club.—Qualifiers for championships: Seniors, Mrs. Anderson, Mrs. Kennedy, Miss Podevln. Juniors, Miss Lauchlan, Mrs. Cooper, Mrs. Simmies, Mrs. MeGavin, Mrs. Davis, Miss Taylor, Mrs. Gyles, Mrs. Gibson. C grade: Mrs. Hitchens, Miss Wylie, Miss Lindsay, Miss Butcher, Mrs. Jepson.
Manor Park Ladies’ Club.—Seven-holes stablelord: .Mrs. Allan, 15 points. Manor Park Club.—Stableford: S. Hollobon, 35 points; T. Baker, 33. Mixed fourball 'bestball: Miss A. Hogg and D. Hood, 3 up, on count-back from Miss Buncehall and C. Wynne. A final collection for Christmas cheer for members of the club overseas brought the total of the fund up to £5O. Hutt Ladies’ Club.—A Riddiford medal match will be played on Wednesday. Flag match result: Seniors, Mrs. Monteith planted the llag ou the seventeenth green. Juniors, Mrs. Esciaile planted the flag on the nineteenth green. Te Marua Club.—The women’s bogey was won by Mrs. Bolt, and. the men’s medal by Dalton, with 72 net. His handicap has been reduced to 11. Next Sunday the senior/and junior men’s ehampiouships will be played. Hutt Club.—ln the second match for the Oka Heketa Shield, played between the Hutt and Masterton clubs, the result was a draw for the second time within three years. Hutt won the singles by 10 games to 13, and Masterion won the fo.urballs by eight games to five. The destination of the trophy was decided by a putting match over 18 holes by the respective captains, which resulted in a win for Hutt by 2 up and 1 to go. Karori Club.—Fourball bogey: C.
