WAGES TAX TO GO

New South Waies State Finances (Received September 14, G. 30 p.m.) SYDNEY, September 14. The payment of State income tax by instalments in the same way as the Federal tax is now collected, will be announced by the Premier of New South Wales, Mr. McKell, when the State Budget comes down next week. Taxation of company dividends will be increased and higher rates on middle ami higher incomes will alto be announced.

These measures are designed to help bridge the gap of £8,000,000 which will be caused by the abandonment of the wages tax. Increased revenue for hospitals is expected to be provided by larger Stale lotteries.
