Spectacular Scenes In Town Hall Large crowds attended the Wellington City Mission’s “Coster hair in the Town Hall- yesterday and last night. Evi dence of the spontaneity and generosity of the public response to the objective of the fair was given not only by the stream of people, but by the remark of the organizer, the Rev. H Squires, city m*ss‘oner that approximately two-thirds of the amount aimed at had already come in. Another £4OO was still needed, and he hoped the fair would conclude with tnat amount taken. During yesterday afternoon tnose attending were entertained to a community sing and a. Happiness Club rally, items being given by pupils of St. Mark s Church School. Mrs. P. Fraser congratulated tbe mission on its fine work and wished the fuir every success. . , The feature of last evenings programme was a brilliant “Pageant of Youth.” The smart drill of the girls marching teams occasioned much admiration. A variety of spectacular items culminated in a vivid finale symbolizing the friendship between America and Great Britain. The producer was Mrs. J. VV. Innes, with Mr. L. K. Morris stage manager and Mr. E. E. Dean accompanist. One of the sketches in the pageant, “We’re in the Army Now,” had a cast of 150 performers. It is hoped that the public will again give its full support this afternoon and tonight, when the fair will end. Children will be specially catered for by Mr. Ritchie and Mrs. Jacobs, who will conduct a monster children’s party from 2 p.m. till 4. In the evening the Repertory Society’s concert party will entertain with one of the revues presented with such success to men in the camps in the Wellington area. Mr. Clement Howe will provide an interlude with a grand organ recital __
