Ashburton Candidates Dominion Special Service. • UHRISTUHURCH,- September IL -Ideal conditions prevailed for todays training operations at Riccarton, and. some interesting work in view ot the Ashburton County Racing Clubs fixture on Saturday was done. On the trial grass The sVrecker and Cymric strode over seven furlongs in 1.31. Good Health finished in front of I'ernby, with Blue Abbey beaten off, at the end of seven furlongs in 1.33. Others over the distance included. Don't Forget, 1.33 1-5; Nightglass, 1.33 1-5: Scarteen, sVugner and Ackemma, in that order, 1.32 1-5. Palfrey and Iceland Spar were responsible for the best time, 1.17 3-5, tor six furlongs. They kept together; throughout and finished on bhik-. ari -ran the same distance in 1.18 3-5, and others ineluded: Sham Boy and Roy Dun, 1.20 3-5; Crossmaglen and Fleche dOr,. 1.21; Greenbank and Military Maid,' 1.19 4-5; and Bascule and Pennywhistle, 1.21 2-5. ■ . . Eulogist showed smart form by reeling off five-furlongs along the back stretch in 1.4 3-5. Scottish Dale and Lord Dundas ran the same distance in 1.0 2-5. Hunting Charm and Highland Dance followed in 1.6 2-5, the latter finishing the better. Myraid -beat Big Game over the same journey in 1.6, and Stabilize and Sir Gundi took 1.6. ■ King’s Toast sprinted three furlongs along the back in 39 2-5, and Arabian Night and the two-year-old B oxhaven executed a similar task in 38 2-5. Foxhaven is showing a good deal of promise. sVillow Wood attracted attention by running half a mile, in 50, .in company with Force. Lindus and Little Secret went over the same ground in 51. Pleading also recorded 51. St. Cloud ami Skyrena strode over five furlongs m 1.7, and Merry March and Hugsotis occupied 1 8 ’ Wild Talk covered a mile in 1.45 3-5, and Ga'y Parade did similar work in 146 4-5. Blue Coat recorded 1.47 3-5. Under a good hold early, Ann Mie took 1.46.
