Clipper From America

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, August 31.

Record quantities of airborne freight to and from New Zealand by the South Pacific route were carried by PanAmerican Airways’ California Clipper, which visited Auckland at the weekend. The clipper also brought a record mail. Arriving from America on Saturday afternoon, the clipper brought 10971 b. of freight and 14001 b. of mail from Britain.and North America. About 701 b. of freight mid 5001 b. of mail were for New Zealand. The remainder will be forwarded to Australia and the East. The clipper left on her return journey this morning, carrying 8641 b. of Australian and New Zealand freight and 6321 b. of mail, 3541 b. of mail being from New Zealand and the rest from Australia and Eastern countries.
