TEST GAS ALARM IN LONDON

Many People Without Masks

LONDON, August 28.

A test gas alarm in the city of London last night caught many workers who were on their way home without masks.

Tear gas and a mild form of lungirritant gas were discharged. One bus was held up till the gas dispersed, because the driver and the conductor had no masks. Pedestrians ran as fast as they could to escape the gas. A.R.P. officials were pleasantly surprised by the number of people carrying masks.
