“ROSE MARIE”
The expectation of a public long deprived of adequate live stage entertainments runs high for the opening presentation of the popular musical comedy. "Rose Marie," at the Grand Opera [louse on Saturday. Months of strenuous rehearsals will end tomorrow nigh: when the final dress rehearsal will be field, and many critics who have been allowed to see recent rehearsals consider that the standard reached in "Rose Marie is even better than that attained in the company’s performance last. year in "Rio Rita. With Merle Gamble. Ray Treweru. Joaiie Baine, Laurie Jones. Cyril Tilley. J. M. Linaker, Winifred Kindred. S. Miles. Allen Ilighet. G. Thomson, and W. liar vey in the cast of characters - , very little remains to be said of that important group to whom is allotted the task of revealing the unusual plot, with which tne author has enriched this delightful musical romance. Originality is the keynote of Miss Eva Moore’s- creations of attractive ensembles and sparkling ballets, and it can truthfully be said that the chorus movement in the spectacular "Totem Pole" ballet will be a feature of the production. A full operatic orchestra of 29 musicians under [he baton of Mr. \\ . H, Stevens will help to make “Rose Marie an outstanding success. Patrons arc advised to reserve at the D.1.C.. as seats cannot bo guaranteed toward the end of the season.
