Play Of Good Standard Hockey of good standard was seen in the Wellington senior men’s competition on Saturday. At Nae Nae Technical Old Boys and Welliiigton drew, 4-4. University 5, Air Force 2. — This was a fine game, clean and even. The advantage lay with each team in turn, and tor most of the second half scores were equal at 2-all. However, over the last tew minutes Air Force tired, and lost touch, allowing Varsity to net three times and make a greater disparity in the scores than there was in the play. For the winners Stacey (2), Scott (2), and Paine scored. Fletcher scored both goals for Air Force. Karori Kiwis 3, Wesley 2.— Though the scores were close, Karori Kiwis dominated t.he major part of their game against Wesley, though Wesley fought back all the time. Both Wesley’s goals came crora spectacular runaways. Sim (2) and Adams scored for Karori. and Sowden netted twice for Wesley. Huia 5, Karori Tuis o.— Though iney did not score an overwhelming victory, Huia met with little trouble from Karori Tuis, whose forwards and halves could not cope with the hard-hitting tactics of their opposite numbers. There were occasions when the Huia combination could not be faulted. Much work devolved ou the capable Karori full-backs, who were instrumental iu keeping Huia’s score from being even higher. Rough (2). Wilson, Overin, and Russell were the scorers.
