Preparations are now complete for firing 50.0001 b. of gelignite at the limestone quarry of lite Wilsons Cement: Company at Portland. This is one of the largest shots that have been tired at the quarry and it is expected that about 250.000 tons of limestone will be brought down by tlie explosion. Ona thousand cases of gelignite have been placed in 10 long holes of about sis incites in diameter, these holes having l>een driven from the top of the quarry face to the foot, a distance of than 200 feet.
