MAYOR OF PETONE
Among Those Missing Lance-Corporal George London, who is reported missing, is mayor of tetone. He was mayor from 193 S to 1941, and enlisted last year and went oveiseas. At the recent election he was retimed unopposed. He was also a member of the Wellington Harbour Board till nis term expired, during his absence overseas. this month. , , ■« x, . Mr. London is the son of. one of tae early mayors of Petone. He is unmarried and in his early thirties. He served, on other local bodies and was for .a tune chairman of the Hutt Valley Electric Power Board. His mother resides in Lower Hutt.
