FREE OUT-PATIENT SERVICE
Christchurch Restrictions Dominion Special Service. CHRISTCHURCH, May 29. The free out-patient service provided at the Christchurch Public Hospital under the social security scheme has been restricted, the number of patients in some of the departments having been limited. In the eye, nose, and throat/department the number of patieuts will be limited to 20 a day, in the ophthalmic department to 40, and in the .dermatologist’s department to 40. These limits may not, however, be .at once strictly maintained, as soldiers and others for whom appointments have been made will be seen. - ; The restrictions have been introduced with the authority of the Health Department. The call on out-patient services at the hospital increased considerably since the introduction of the social security'.benefits and is continuing to place a heavy burden on the departments involved.
