No Conscription For Overseas Service

OTTAWA, May 13.

The Defence Minister, Colonel Ralston, in the course of the Budget debate, rejected a Conservative demand for compulsory enlistment of overseas troops. He said that this demand was an unwelcome blow against unity in Canada.

The Minister of Finance, Mr. llsley, announced (hat Canada's forthcoming victory loan of (500.000,000 dollars, lhe third and largest loan since lhe war began. will open on June 2.

RESERVE AIR CORPS FOR DUTCH EAST INDIES BATAVIA, May 13. In order to create a new Reserve AitCorps for the Army and Navy Reserve, the Netherlands East Indies is offering free initial flying tuition to men of 17 to 27 years. The arrangement will make available 100 army and 40 naval pupil pilots every six months
