The proprietor of a big hotel in the heart of Auckland realized that his staff would appreciate the privilege of being able to see Hie big services parade on Saturday afternoon. The hotel in question does a big trade with members of the forces, and when the proprietor told his customers that lie intended to close the hotel for half an hour so that he and his staff might cheer the troops as they went by the suggestion was accepted in cheerful humour. Those who were inclined to dally over their drinks were , hurried along good-naturedly, and the hoi el sial! had limit' 30-minnle “Imll'-lioli-day” watching the parade till business resumed.
