ST. JOHN AMBULANCE
New Division In Upper Hutt The important part members of the St, John Ambulance Association played in the Emergency Precautions Scheme, ami the voluntary assistance given by trained personnel on the sports fields, at public gatherings, and in the home, was referred to by the mayor of Upper Hutt, .Mr. J. Blewman. at a meeting held to form an Upper Hutt Ambulance Division on Tuesday. The borough council, said Mr. Blewman, would bo pleased to give all possible assistance to the division.
Members should make every sacrifice to maintain efficiency in normal times, as well as in times of national stress, said the assistant commissioner for "Wellington district. Mr. W. W. Dutton. Referring to the work of the association in the Hutt Valley. Mr. Dutton said that first, aid classes were bring' hold in !’<■- tone, Lower Hull, ami at. the railway workshops. “It is Imped to form, an amhitlanee division in Lower Hutt.” he said. "In Petinie. a nursing division will be formed when sufficient women obtain their first aid ami home nursing certificates.”
