Lower Hutt’s Low Rate Charges

In thanking cuuncillorb itud stuff last, night for the good service they had given (he citizens during the past three years, l lie mayor of Lower Hutt, Mr. J. M. Andrews, at the last meeting of the Lower Hutt. City Council before tlie municipal elections,'said that of all cities in tlie Dominion, Lower Hutt was the best on account of its low rate charges. This, he said, was largely due to the prudent administration of past councils, and the zealous service of the staff. Cr. E. I’. Hay, in thanking the mayor, said that there' ft-as no chief magistrate in the Dominion who brought greater zeal to the discharge of bis duties than Mr Andrews, ami tlie city was fortunate in possessing such aii outstanding mayoress us .Mrs. Andrews. Mr. Andrews could look back ou his service to the community with a sense of pride. The council was fortunate in having the loyal co-operation of u capable staff.
