Injuries From Collision Between Two Cars

Damages amounting to £Ol4/6/- for injuries received as the result of a collision between two cars in Wellington in 1939, were awarded to Alice Lavinia Livingston, married woman, .Wellington, by a jury of 12 in the Supreme Court yesterday. Mr. Justice Smith was on the Bench. The defendant was W. Peters, builder, Hastings. The evidence was that plaintiff was walking on the footpath at the intersection of Wilson and Daniell Streets, Wellington, on December 30, 1039, when she was involved in a collision between two cars, one driven by defendant. Plaintiff suffered a permanent disability of the right leg, and claimed special damages totalling £164/6/- and general damages totalling £l5OO. The jury awarded the special damages in full and half tire amount of general damages claimed. , Dr. O. C. Mazengarb and Mr. S. G. Stephenson appeared for plaintiff, and Mr. E. Parry for defendant.
