Woodfield, Otago delegate, gave notice of motion to rescind the disallowance of G. L. Austin s application for the 15-niile record. Applications from tlie Canterbury association toi recognition of the Canterbury junior mile relay’s time of 3min. 49sec., as a standard time" if not a record, and for reconsideration of J. V. McCormick’s application tor the junior high jump record were disallowed. It was pointed out that a standard'time of 3min. 45sec. for the junior mile relay is already on the books. A letter was received from Hamilton regarding the action of a competitor m the Waikato sbeondary schools’ sports, who knocked aside one obstacle in a hurdle event. A competitor is allowed to knock down two hurdles without disqualification, but tlie committee ruled that deliberately knocking one aside was a different thing from knocking one over in an attempt to jump it, and consequently the referee's action in disqualifying the competitor was correct.
