A letter was received from Hamilton regarding the action of a competitor m the Waikato sbeondary schools’ sports, who knocked aside one obstacle in a hurdle event. A competitor is allowed to knock down two hurdles without disqualification, but tlie committee ruled that deliberately knocking one aside was a different thing from knocking one over in an attempt to jump it, and consequently the referee's action in disqualifying the competitor was correct.
