TWO BRIDGE PARTIES
W.N.R. Efforts For Queen Carnival
Two recent bridge parties arranged by the Oriental Bay-Roseneath branch of the Women's National Reserve for patriotic fuiws, were most successful. The first was in aid of funds for the Fighting Forces candidate in the Queen Carnival campaign, the sum of £l2/7/- being raised. Sister Molly Mahoney, Fighting Services Queen, Miss Denise Puttick, Army Princess, and Mrs. E. Puttick and Mrs. Rio Love, Hutt Valley Queen, were present. Assistance with preparations for the party was given by Mesdames W. H. Gledhffl, 0. N. Gillespie, Overden, Parkinson, Burton, Zander, Bowater,- Duncan, Walshe, Kissell, Stringer and A. Longmore.
Funds for one of the Commerce Queen’s princesses, .Miss Lola Tingey, benefited to the extent of £l5/17/- from the second party. The same group of helpers gave valuable assistance during the afternoon, also Mesdames Carrington, Lundius and Thompson. Both parties took place in the English-Speaking Union rooms.
