HEAVY DUEL ACROSS CHANNEL
British And Nazi Batteries
LONDON, April 29.
British and German long-range guns were engaged in a shelling battle this morning across the English Channel. The German guns opened fire ou the Dover area in clear visibility. The British guns replied first with single shells and then with four-gun and sixgun salvoes fired at intervals of three minutes. The bombardment has been described as the heaviest of the year.
