Sir, —J pope that the authorities will look into the exorbitant cost of sending tinned butter, honey and cheese to England. One would think that the Government would do all in their power to encourage the sending of these parcels to relations and friends in England at the present critical time, but our good New Zealand produce, which has now a splendid opening to advertise itself in the United Kingdom, costs: 3/8 a lb. for tinned b.utter, 3/6 a lb. for tinned honey and 2/6 a lb. for tinned cheese. To these figures the cost of postage on the butter and honey is additional.—-I am, etc., MELOPT.
