Queen Carnival Programme
The latest voting figures iu the Wellington Victory Queen Carnival are as follows : Public Services, 740,6215; Commerce, 722.480; Fighting Services, 700,455; Transport, 463,884; Hutt Valley, 424,161; Movie, 418,686. Today and tomorrow will be the last opportunities of securing tickets in the Fighting Services Queen’s art union. The total value of the six prizes exceeds £6OO. The first prize, a Vnuxhall 14 motor-car, given by the licensed trade of Wellington, is valued at £416.
In support of the Retailers' Grecian Princess, a patriotic ball, arranged by Mac-duffs. Limited, will be held in the Majestic Cabaret tomorrow night. Dancing will begin at 0 o’clock. The Commerce Queen and her six princesses will be present. Mr. J. Annand-Sinilh, chairman of the carnival committee, announced yesterday that the appeal made last week for direct giving iiad resulted in £234/13/6 being received. He asked that donors who desired to remain anonymous should send their addresses, so that official receipts could be sent, to them.
