The saving and sale of used postage stamps to assist to raise its share of the all-purposes appeal is the object of a campaign launched by the Auckland Provincial Patriotic Council. A special sub-committee is arranging for the disposal of the stamps. The campaign will extend for. the duration of the war and an appeal has been made for widespreird and whole-hearted cooperation. All issues of New Zealand stamps, as well as those of overseas countries, tire required, but torn, dirty or heavily-postmarked stamps are regarded as of no value. It is thought that many people have large collections which have not been touched tor years, while others will be able to forward supplies of stamps to the committee at regular intervals. The suggestion has been made that cold water should be used if stamps are being soaked, irs warm water will make certain colours run and suoil other stamps.
