PARADE TODAY

Troops To Begin March At 10,15 a.m. 2000 TO TAKE PART More than 2000 2nd N.Z.E.F. troops from the mobilization eamp, Trentham, will parade through the city of Wellington this morning, and the GovernorGeneral, Sir Cyril Newall, will take the salute. It will be (he first occasion on which be has seen such it parade in "ew Zealand. Major R. F. Mitchell, M.C., V.D., N.Z.T.S., will command the parade, the leading units of which w ill pass the starting point at 10.15 a.m. The parade will be in three battalions, Captain W. L. Britton, N.Z.T.S., being commander of No. 1, Captain E. A. Porritt, M.C., of No. 2, and Captain R. Hollis, M.C., N.Z.T.S., of- No. 3. Three trains will bring the troops to Wellington, arriving at 9.20 a.m.. 9.25 a.m. and 9.45 a.m.

On arrival, the battalions will move to Waterloo Quay, where they will form up in line of battalions. The Trentham Camp Band will lead No. 1 battalion and the band of the 2nd Field Regiment, N.Z.A., No. 2 battalion. The band of the Ist Battalion, Wellington Regiment (Citv of Wellington’s Own), will play the No. 1 battalion past the saluting point, and a part of the No. 2 battalion, when the band of the R.N.Z.A.F. will take up the march to pltry the remaining troops past the point. The Wellington Regiment Band will fall in to lead the No. 3 battalion and the R.N.Z.A.F. band will follow the rear of this battalion. The Governor-General will take the salute from a point on the north side of Bunny Street immediately opposite the centre of the main entrance to the railway station. The route of the march will be Waterloo Quay, Bunny Street, Lambton Quay, Willis Street, Mercer Street, Lower Cuba Street, Jervols Quay and Waterloo Quay, to the railway station. The men will arrive back in camp at intervals from noon to 12.25 p.m. The parade should take approximately 4o minutes.

In the event of wet weather, the parade will still take place as arranged, except that the saluting point will be under the canopy of the main entrance to the railway station. There will be no speeches.
