Otago Sheepfarmers’ Position MESSAGE TO MR. FRASER ißy Telegraph—Press Association, i DUNEDIN. March 27. A telegram emphasizing the eriticti 1 position in which the Otago sheep farmers are being placed by the re strictions on the killing of ewes and wethers for export and recommending strongly that the Governmenl should give effect to the recommendations of the Meat Board was sent to the Prime Minister, Mr. Fraser, today, on behalf of the Otago Provincial Council of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, by its president. .Mr. R. S. Thompson. The telegram read: “The Otago executive of the Farmers’ Union strongly protests against the sweeping; nature of the restrictions on the kill ings of ewes and wethers for export When the Governmenl asked for increased . production. the Otago farm ers did their utmost without counting cost. We strongly urge that the Meat Board’s reeoinmendatioTis he given immediate effect.
