BURNS’ CLUB ANNUAL MEETING
The report presented at the tenth annual meeting of the Wellington Burns Club recently recorded a successful year’s activities, though a slight decrease in membership, mainly because of the war, was shown. A satisfactory position was disclosed in the balance-sheet.
Appeals for help from the Scottish National Memorial Committee and the Burns Federation, sponsoring a complete Scottish dictionary, were considered, and, in view of war conditions, were left for consideration by the incoming committee. Election of officers resulted: Patron, Sir James Elliott; president, Mr. R. H. Nimmo; senior vice-president, Mr. J. G. Niven; hon. secretary, Mr. A. F. Dixon; pianist, Mrs. B. Webb; Press steward, Mr. J. Houston.
