OPEN PAIRS TOURNEY
To Be Held For Patriotic Purposes
WELLINGTON CENTRE'S DECISION
The Wellington Bowling Centre decided last night, to bold an open pairs tournament on March 26 and 27 for patriotic purposes, four games of 16 heads each (three-bowl pairs) to comprise the section play on the first day, with post-section play on the second day. The entry fee was fixed at 10/- a pair. The secretary reported that Hataitai and Lyall Bay had tied in the midweek competition. It was decided that the clubs play off on the Victoria club's green on a date to he agreed upon. Consideration was given to a circular from the Manawatu and 'Wanganui centres urging support, for a proposal to alter the constitution of the New Zealand Bowling Council to provide for representation for all centres. After discussion, which indicated that members favoured a change in the constitution. but desired more time to consider a suitable remit, it was agreed to advise the Manawatu and Wanganui centres that a remit was under consideration.
